architectural design to planning

whitecliff, poole

located in the desirable whitecliff area of poole, the project comprises the thorough transformation of a traditional 1930s family home. The clients, a young, active family of five, required a significant spatial upgrade to ensure the property could gracefully adapt to their changing needs over time.

the architectural intervention balances sensitive preservation of the classic 1930s front elevation, with a two storey rear extension, sympathetic in style to the design of the original house.  the substantial rear extension and loft conversion affords three new ensuite bedrooms, whilst opening up the existing cellular ground floor layout allows the creation of an expansive, open-plan kitchen and dining suite.  french doors dissolve the boundary between the interior and the garden terrace, flooding the heart of the home with natural light.
